Captain Destructo Strikes Again!!!
The last night Ryan and I were watching TV trying to wind down from our day when I realized that the kiddos had been quiet for quite some time. This is not something usual in our home! So I got up and went to check on the boys, and that's when I realized that Capt. Destructo (Isaac) had been at it again. I quickly called Ryan over so he could see what HIS son had done.
Random Nathaness
Nathan and trying to convince Ryan that we need a baby:
Nathan-"We need to have a baby dad and it needs to be a girl."
Ryan-" No son, we don't need a baby."
Nathan-"Yes dad, we do and if its not a girl I'm going to put you in time-out!"
Me trying to convince Nathan to eat dinner:
Me-"Nathan please just try the casserole it's got chicken and rice. You like chicken and rice."
Nathan-"No mom it looks gross I'm NOT trying that!!!"
Me-"Nathan just try it and if you don't like it you don't have to eat it."
Nathan-(crinkles nose and takes a bite while holding his breath)"You were right mom! This wasn't disgusting after all. It was quite delicious!! You're a great cooker-chef!

My MVP!!
Ryan participated in a softball tournament this weekend. He got conned into joining his works team. I have to admit I was a bit worried about Ryan's athletic abilities; after all he's a singer--and an awesome one at that--but I wasn't quite sure how athletic he would be. Since all he had to due back in the day was sing and that would impress the ladies, no need to be a jock, right? So the kiddos and I packed up and went to his tournament and man was I blown away!!! My hubby is a JOCK!!! He throws the ball so stinking hard and man can he swing. He hit back-to-back triples which I did not get pictures of because I was to busy busting every one's eardrums as I cheered for him. Nathan was so proud that HIS daddy made runs. And the major highlight for Nathan was watching his dad successfully slide into second base, just beating the throw from the shortstop. Honey, you're our Most Valuable Player and our Most Valuable Dad.

ALL FOR NOTHING!!!
It was actually worse three days ago!! More purple.
Earlier this month I posted about this super cute glove that my awesome hubby bought for me so I could play in the Stake softball tournament. Well the tournament got cancelled because of heavy rain, but not before I went to practice and got hurt!!! I was pitching for a man in the other Carlsbad Ward, (I know pitching for a guy I should have known better, but I didn't!!) and he hit a line drive (?? I think that's what Ryan called it) right at me!!! And instead of using my glove I used my knee!!! Not as effective I tell you!! So now I have a huge bruise, a bum knee and no tournament to show for it!!!!
Two Down, One to Go!!!!
Monday was Nathan's 1st day of Preschool. Although he went to Preschool last year, I was still nervous for him to go because he was getting a brand new teacher in a brand new classroom. But I should have know better about worrying!! As we were walking up to the school, Nathan let go of my hand grabbed the teacher's hand and waved bye to me before I got a chance to even get through the doorway of the school. He also made it clear that he did not need me to walk him to class because he was a big boy now!! I was able to convince him to let me stay a little so I could take pictures of him, but after taking two pictures Nathan walked over to me and told me: "Okay mom, that's enough! Its time for you to go home." They grow up so fast!!
Nathan is a caterpillar this year.

HE'S ALREADY THAT BIG!!!!!!
Benjamin getting ready for school. Benjamin and Mrs. Firkins
So today was Benjamin's first day of 1st grade!!! I couldn't believe he was already that old. Of course I had to do the mom thing and drop him off instead of having the bus pick him up. I loaded up the new 1st grader and dragged Nathan and Isaac along. He was so exited when we got to school, he saw his teacher waved goodbye, and there I was about to cry as I was taking pictures. Then it occurred to me, my little boy isn't so little anymore!!! Where did time go and where was I????!!!

Torture Device!!!!
I have always suspected that treadmills are torture devices, I mean you run and run and run and still get no where, but I didn't have the proof until two days ago. After setting Isaac down for his nap, I decided to get on the treadmill and work out a little. I was huffing and puffin when all of a sudden I heard a blood curdling scream, I pulled out the emergency key, looked over my shoulder and there was little Isaac. He stuck his hand in between the conveyor and the base of the treadmill!! It was horrible, I felt so bad for him that it made me nauseous. Panicking I called Ryan to tell him that I was going to take Isaac to the ER and to meet me there so one of us would take the other two boys home. He calmed me down and told me to call the doctor because the hospital was probably just going to bandage him up, and like most times he was right. So my little boy now has a Phantom of the Opera hand!!! My poor boy, I still feel so guilty!!

The Gloves are off, well actually on.
How blessed I am to be married to such a thoughtful and caring man. Our ward is going to participate in a stake softball tournament, and of course I signed up. I haven't played since back in high school with the St. Paul's Methodists Sistas, but I thought I would give it a shot. So I cleaned out our laundry/store room to find my glove, and it was nowhere to be found. So I called my dear hubby and asked him if he could pick me up a cheap glove at Wal-Mart. He came home and surprised me with the cutest glove I have ever seen. How wonderful that Ryan knows that I would rather have something cute than practical. Thanks babe, now even if I play horrible I will look cute doing it!

Random Nathaness!
Nathan always comes up with something that makes us crack up so we thought we would add it to our blog.
Our conversation today:
Nathan--"Mom do you know what you had in your belly?"
Mom--"No what is it Nathan?"
Nathan--"Me!! When I wasn't born yet I was really little in your belly. And you took care of me and ate lots for me, like pizza and mac n' cheese. Thank you so much for taking good care of me mommy."
How cute!!! It almost made me cry!!
Nathan and Yaya
Yaya--"Nathan I love you ten!"
Nathan--" Ummm....I love you eight."

Viva Las Vegas!!!
It has almost been two months since Ryan and I went to Vegas for his birthday celebration, but we had so much fun I thought I would share our fun times. We stayed at the New York, New York Hotel of course because that was the closest way for me to bring back Ryan to his misson days. We walked the strip a bit that first night and man were we exhausted! We had ton's of fun viewing all the hotels, the Bellagio water show, and being able to have a fancy dinner--just us two--at Gallagher's Steak House; but the high point of our little getaway was watching the Phantom of the Opera!! The music, set, the theater, and our seats (front row--dead center) were amazing!!! We were completely exhausted by Sunday morning and were ready to come home. Don't get me wrong, being able to sleep-in was fun, but I did miss my little monkeys! Thanks again for watching them Memaw.
Oh the Yaya!!!
So today Nathan looked over at me very thoughtfully and asked if Yaya (Erin) really did have to go to college. I tried to explain to him that Erin needed to go to college so that she could learn something really important--that way, she would be whatever she wanted to be when she grew up. To which Nathan replied: "Mom, can she just never grow up and stay little with me? I just miss her!" How cute!! So Yaya, hurry back!!!!
